シンガポールに来てから7日目を迎えました。最終日の今日，7月31日（土）はフライトまでの時間を自由に過ごしました。筆者はStudy Visitの期間中にSP校ABEの水環境工学を専門とするTracy先生から「シンガポールにも1つだけ温泉（Hot Spring）がある」と聞いて，この自由時間を利用して地図をたよりに温泉を探しに行きました。その温泉はSembawang Hot Springといい，シンガポールの電車（MRT）の南北線（NS Line）のSembawang駅（NS11）またはYishun駅（NS12）から歩いて20分ほどの国防省の軍事施設内にありました。軍事施設内ですが，自己責任において自由に立ち入ってよいようで，地元の方も自転車などで気軽に立ち入っていました。Sembawang Hot Springは温泉と言っても入浴できる浴槽などはなく，泉源である井戸とそれを囲う建物，ならびに周囲に温泉水の出る蛇口（湯汲み場）が数か所あるだけで，地元の方は蛇口からバケツに温泉水を汲んでタオルを浸して絞り蒸しタオルにしたり，コンクリート面に散水してその蒸気の中で寝そべって休むといった使い方をしていました。蛇口から出る温泉水の温度はかなり高く，直接さわるとやけどしそうでした。ABEの地盤工学の先生からは，シンガポールは小さな島国であるが，島の中央部を境にして東西で地層や地質が大きくことなることを伺いました。Sembawang Hot Springはこの境付近に位置していることから，この地層や地質の違いがSembawangにシンガポールで唯一の温泉を噴出させているのかもしれません。
　On July 31 (the last day), we had a free time till the flight.  I heard “there is only one hot spring in Singapore” from Ms. Tracy who specialized in water environmental engineering.  So I went out to search the hot spring with the help of a map during this free time.  It was called Sembawang Hot Spring and was in military facilities, 20 minutes on foot away from the Sembawang station or the Yishun station of NS Line.  It was in military facilities, but we could enter it freely by self-responsibility.  Local people came by bike and entered it.　Though Sembawang Hot Spring was a hot spring, there was no bathtub.  There were a well which was the source of hot spring, a brick wall which surrounded the hot spring, and some faucets from which hot spring came out.  Local people let hot spring into buckets, dipped towels in them and made steamed towels, or sprinkled hot spring on the concrete floor and laid themselves on it in the steam.  The temperature of hot spring was rather high and I was likely to get burned if I touched directly.  From geotechnical engineering teachers of A.B.E., I heard that Singapore was a small island country but  stratums and the geological features were quite different between the east side and the west side border on a center of the island.  As Sembawang Hot Spring was around the border, it might spout out the only hot spring that the difference of stratums and the geological features.
　夕方からは，SP校卒業生のSeanさん（実は昨年本校都市システム工学科にStudy Visitに来て共同実習をしました！）をはじめとして，シンガポールに滞在中に大変お世話になったSP校生を夕食に招待しました。先日訪れたCity Square Mallの5階にある日本食のレストランにて皆でお好み焼きなどの日本食を楽しみました。その後25：00のフライトに向けてSP校の留学生用アパートのチェックアウトを済ましてバスでチャンギ空港に向かいました。チャンギ空港には多数のSP校生も一緒に見送りに来てくれ，別れを惜しむように最後まで抱き合ったり，手を振りあったりする姿が見られ，このStudy Visitが学生達にとって心に残る良い経験であったように思われました。翌日（8/1）の朝8:00に福岡国際空港に到着し，延べ9日間の長い旅を終えました。旅行期間中は数名の体調不良者も出ましたが，15名全員が予定通り帰国できたことを喜びたいと思います。このStudy Visitは本校関係者のみならず，参加学生の保護者のご理解とご支援によって実施することができました。文末ながら，ここに記して感謝申し上げます。
　In the evening we invited many people to dinner, a graduate of SP school,Sean who came to our school last year, SP school students who took care of us during our stay in Singapore.  We enjoyed Japanese food like Okonomiyaki in the restaurant on the fifth floor of Square Mall.  After that we left the foreign students’ apartment and took a bus for Changi Airport.  At Changi Airport many SP school students came to see us off, we hugged or waved our hands to the last.  It seemed that this experence was a really good one for students.  We arrived at Fukuoka International Airport at 8:00 on the morning of the next day (August ), we finished the long trip to Singapore.  During the trip some students were in bad condition, but I was pleased that 15 students could come back safely on schedule.  We could carry out this Study Visit on understanding and support of students’ protectors and people concerned to our school.  Last of all, I’d like to thank for all help of these people.
