教育ＧＰの事業の一環として，都市システム工学科の学生１５名が，シンガポール・ポリテクニク（ＳＰ）校へStudy Visitに行きます。期間は平成２２年７月２５日（日）から７月３１日（土）の７日間です。参加学生は２年生が１名，３年生が１０名，４年生が４名で，うち男子７名，女子８名です。
　15 students of Department of Civil Engineering will visit Singapore Polytechnic to study as one of ‘Education GP’ activities. We’ll stay there for 7 days from July 25 to July 31.  15 students are 1 second grader, 10 third graders and 4 fourth graders (7 boy students and 8 girl students).
　1５名は７月２４日（土）福岡に宿泊し，翌日（７/２５）の１０：３０に福岡国際空港からシンガポールに旅立ちました。海外旅行はもとより飛行機に乗ったことのない学生もいましたが，無事に現地時間の１５：００にシンガポール・チャンギ国際空港に到着しました。空港ではＳＰ校の留学生担当のTonyさんとそのスタッフ（２名）が出迎えて下さり，バスで宿泊場所であるＳＰ校の留学生用のアパートに向かいました。
　We stayed in Fukuoka on July 24 and left for Singapore at 10:30 am on July 25 from Fukuoka International Airport.  Though some of them have never been to foreign countries nor got on airplanes, all of them arrived at Singapore Changi International Airport on 15:00 local time safely.  At the airport Tony who is in charge of foreign students, and two of his staffs welcomed us, and we left for the apartment of foreign students of SP school by bus.
　この日はアパートや現地での電車やバスの乗り方の説明を受けた後，夕方からＳＰ校によるWelcomeDinnerに招待され，SP校の多くの教員やスタッフから温かい歓迎を受けました。その後は近くのスーパーマーケットでボトルド・ウォーターなどを購入してアパートへ戻りました。シンガポールに着いてから初めての長い一日が終わりました。学生らは疲れた様子ですが，異国の地での体験に心が躍っているようでした。
　On that day, after we learned how to get on trains or buses, we were invited to Welcome Dinner by SP school in the evening.  After dinner we bought bottled water etc and went back to the apartment.　The first long day ended from arrival at Singapore.  Students looked tired but excited at experiences in foreign country.
